Gatto

Based in the area of the Zuerich International Airport, Gunfighters Car Club (gunfighters.cc) was founded on January 3rd, 2010 by Sandro „Gatto“ and his friend Gian Luca X.

« It all started out as a joke more or less » says Gatto, also the club’s president,  « After spending  some time being around American cars and bikes, going to shows and stuff, we found out that we had do something. Because we didn’t wanted to be prospects of an existing club (you know, at age 40 something, there’s  some things you just don’t have and don’t want to do).  So, we  started our own thing  and ended up having a car club. »

« So after a few beers we came up with this name gunfighters and it kind of stuck with us. We were thinking of different names, some of them were not so violent, I vaguely remember. But in the end,  we always came back to it. »

«The reason is simple: It just sounds great and being a swiss car club in old fashioned Switzerland, where everyone who is serving the Army is forced to keep his or her weapon fully functional at home during service time, it made so much sense.  We really are a nation of gunfighters  (laughing). »

«Will people not get it? Most probably. Do we care? Nope. As I mentioned earlier, I am old enough not to be everybody’s darling. I am also old enough not to worry about that. »

«A lot of people don’t realize that it is not about what make you drive or how many inches you had your roof chopped or how many parts are flaked. Fuck that! Be yourself, the car you drive doesn’t think for you.  Go out, build what you can, with what you can afford. Respect the others, have fun, drink beer, enjoy every minute you have among friends. Stay true to yourself. Drive your car until the wheel nuts fall off ! »
